Frequently asked questions.
Do you accept insurance?
Dr. Jensen’s practice is not contracted with any commercial or third-party insurance payers, including Medicare. Most insurance companies will provide partial reimbursement for services rendered by a psychiatrist. An invoice will be provided which you can choose to submit to your insurance for out-of-network reimbursement. Please contact your insurance company ahead of time so that you are aware of your specific policy coverage. See more.
Why don’t you accept insurance directly?
Dr. Jensen established her practice to allow more detailed care, better accessibility, and longer visits than are generally available in insurance models. This practice model offers greater discretion and more comprehensive services than are typically allowed by third-party payers. Dr. Jensen is committed to providing the treatment you need, rather than allowing insurance restrictions to dictate your care.
What are your fees?
Please contact Dr. Jensen to discuss current rates, which vary by session length and type of service provided.
What happens after I request a consultation?
Dr. Jensen will review your request and her current availability. A brief phone consultation with Dr. Jensen will allow you to learn about our practice and whether our therapeutic approach might be a good fit for you. Once you schedule your first appointment, you will be given access to a patient portal which includes forms to electronically sign prior to your first appointment.
Some individuals requesting consultation may require more services or availability than can safely be provided in Dr. Jensen’s boutique practice. Prospective patients will be advised if a different practice setting would be more appropriate.
